From Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 June, Victoria Pier will be transformed into a market place for craft and food as well as staging some of Shetland finest entertainers.

The 2009 Flavour Of Shetland event is set to continue the success of previous years with a wide variety of entertainment and events throughout the four days, with performances taking place well into the night.

Children

Featuring shows by Cheeko the Clown, the children’s activities will also include a soft play area, face painting and craft activities and the ever popular rowing challenge.

Crafts

Some of Shetland’s best craftspeople will once again showcase their products highlighting the range of craft and knitwear available locally. Visitors will be able to browse through the market stalls and buy quality items.

Culture

Listen to stories of Shetland folklore with renowned local storyteller Davy Cooper.

Food & Drink

The food stalls will be serving up a range of Shetland produce cooked not only in traditional ways but with an international twist. Sample an ale from Britain’s most northerly brewery.

Music

A firm favourite at the event is the variety of music within the entertainment marquee. Taking to the stage will be a number of old favourites along with some emerging talent new to Flavour of Shetland.
