Some of Shetland’s best craftspeople will once again showcase their products highlighting the range of craft and knitwear available locally. Visitors will be able to browse through the market stalls and buy quality items.

Aamos Designs
Aamos Designs is a unique textile company created by designers Claire Henry and Emma Blain. Their new collection includes woven scarves, baby blankets and cushions, as well as colourful knitted scarves and accessories. Visit the website.
Austin Taylor Photography
Austin Taylor Photography creates stunning photographs of wildlife, viewpoints and events from around Shetland and these are available in print or licensed. The images reflect Austin’s lifelong fascination with all aspects of the natural environment, as well as his interest in photographing people and events. Austin says, “Shetland is a fantastic place to take pictures with landscape and wildlife as fine as anywhere matched by a constantly changing light to add atmosphere – I’ve been fortunate to capture some astounding landscape, wildlife and astronomical drama, but there’s enough to keep me going for at least another 20 years!” Visit the website.

Burra Bears

Glansin Glass
Glansin Glass is an exciting new craft business based in Unst, producing unique handmade glassware. The range of kiln-formed glass includes jewellery, bowls, plates and wall hangings. Fused glass artist Cheryl Jamieson, draws her inspiration from her native natural surroundings. Some of her more unusual pieces feature the striking combination of fused glass and driftwood.
Hnoss Jewellery
The word Hnoss (pronounced noss) is the Old Norse word for treasure, and that is what these pieces of jewellery are designed to be. The jewellery is made from gold, silver, bronze and copper. This is truly hand-made jewellery. Hnoss use a variety of techniques from knitting and crochet through to wire wrapping. The techniques date back as far as the early Viking period. Offering an alternative take on the traditional Shetland knitwear with her exclusive Funky Fair Isle collection. Merging the much loved Fair Isle patterns with modern styled garments and alternative colours Joanna has created a truly unique collection. Her collections include cardigans, jumpers, dresses and a wide variety of accessories including her much loved wrist warmers. Pink Fish

Shoormal Miniatures
Shoormal sheep are made with Shetland fleece. They play musical instruments, knit, spin, shop and BBQ – they can do almost anything we can! Shoormal Trows dressed in Shetland knitwear. Meet Gibi the good luck trow and Lachie Lang-Legs with an original poem in Shetland dialect written especially for him. Original hand-made dolls including a little lady seated with her knitting, a Shetland wife with her basket of wool, a crofter and a beautiful Selki on her rock. Spindrift Crafts
Spindrift Crafts create Textile Art using felted wool and stitch. Their most recent project has involved growing natural dye plants in Shetland to colour wool.
